Regenerative farming with Miscanthus

Open event 25th August to 5th September 2025

Miscanthus is the best crop for fully regenerative farming, generating profit while improving the land in a way that annual crops cannot. ESG has over 25 years of experience growing and developing Miscanthus for energy, bedding, and now materials manufacturing.

We are hosting an open field event from 25th August to 5th September in Taunton, Somerset, to view our work on growing, using, and developing Miscanthus. This event will be essential for:

  • Growers wanting to establish Miscanthus in Spring 2026, we supply planting equipment with our internal rhizome production and an expert team of agronomists.
  • Growers wanting to explore new markets and contracts for their existing crops.
  • Agricultural professionals wanting to understand more about the financial benefits and security Miscanthus provides to landowners compared to annual crops.
  • End users seeking to secure high-quality feedstock can benefit from ESG's assistance in developing it.
  • Food and consumer good companies are looking for solutions in areas such as compostable packaging and construction materials that Miscanthus can be used for.
  • Housing developers who want to understand how Miscanthus can deliver nutrient neutrality with phosphate offtake.
  • Companies looking to reduce their carbon emissions can partner with us and lock carbon below ground in our long-term Miscanthus crops.

We can host events ranging from one-to-one meetings to whole groups, providing an overview of the entire crop and market, or a specific part that's of interest to your group. At our Taunton headquarters farm site, we can demonstrate the whole process, from planting and maturing crops to end-product development, as well as our forward-looking Miscanthus research work with New Energy Farms. Come and enjoy a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea or coffee as we show you how we have been regeneratively farming for the last 25 years and the benefits this approach can provide to you and your farm!
